General Purpose

A Laborer is an entry level position, you will be assigned to a crew with a foreman, or equipment operator.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Use hand tools to dig around existing utility structures to prevent damage

• Join piping by means of mechanical coupled joints

• Verify specifications by performing quality assurance tests

• Load and unload equipment and materials

• Keep worksite clean and organized free from unnecessary hazards

• Other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge, Qualification, & Experience

Education: No specific requirements.

Experience:

• General knowledge of construction and the utility industry is great

• Must possess a desire to learn an new trade

• Focus to work safely in close proximity to workers, heavy equipment, and underground utilities

• Commitment to doing quality work while putting safety first

• Have a strong sense of personal responsibility

Working Environment

• Worksites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditons

• Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50 lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
