General Purpose
A Superintendent are leaders for our construction crews and are accountable for all aspects of all the projects assigned to his/her construction crews. You will directly manage Construction Crew Supervisors, Foreman, and serve as a mentor to guide employees to succeed safely.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead assigned crews to achieve productivity, quality, and safety goals
Oversee processes to achieve all compliance requirements
Act quickly to respond urgently in crisis, such as breaks, outages, malfunctions, etc
Manage project progress, budget, and safety reporting
Analyze procedures for continuous process improvement
Layout work, schedule crews and equipment, inventory project materials and calculate import aggregates
Work with project managers to assist with project schedules, initiate change order requests and other project correspondence
Skills, Knowledge, Qualification, & Experience
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
Experience:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in relevant construction trade
Extensive knowledge of a skill in successful completion of Water, Sewer, and Strom Drain Projects
Mathematical skill to calculate lines and grades and correctly order import materials
Knowledge of project requirements, specifications, permits and drawings
Ability to layout, schedule and adhere to strict project schedules
Ability to properly test and certify various utility installations to meet the various agency & municipal requirements
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, various agency supplements and various viding documents to determine the scope of work
Interpersonal skill to negotiate key business strategies, contracts, and agreements
Ability to provide a high level of customer service by answering questions, providing accurate information, and responding to requests on a timely basis
Ability to travel in-state as dictated by business needs
Working Environment
Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
